Empire Today, a national flooring and window-treatments company, needed to modernize its in-home sales process for 1,200 independent contractors. The company wanted to replace paper-based quoting and order capture with a mobile solution that could improve accuracy, standardize workflows, and reduce the support burden on IT. Microsoft Corporation provided Windows Intune and related Microsoft technologies to help meet that challenge.

Microsoft Corporation implemented a cloud-based device management solution using Windows Intune, Microsoft Azure, and System Center to manage Nokia Lumia 2520 tablets running a custom PrecisionQuote app. This enabled automatic app deployment and updates, remote management, and a more efficient sales workflow. Empire Today expected to avoid hiring about 20 support staff, reduce paper costs, improve quote accuracy, and increase sales through faster, more reliable in-home quoting and ordering.
