EMC Redefines Disaster Recovery for Customers by Supporting Cloud-Based DR Orchestration

EMC, a global leader in IT storage solutions, sought to help its customers embrace a hybrid cloud model by providing an easier way to orchestrate disaster recovery for their critical workloads. Their customers wanted to augment their on-premises EMC storage investments with the Microsoft Azure cloud but found existing failover processes to be complex and difficult to manage for entire datacenters.

Microsoft provided a solution with its Azure Site Recovery (ASR) service, which EMC integrated with its VNX and VMAX storage arrays. This integration allowed customers to automate the replication and orchestrate the failover of entire datacenters to Azure through a simple interface. The Microsoft solution eliminated the need for complex custom procedures, enabled easy testing of disaster recovery plans without interrupting production, and provided a powerful, secure, and cost-efficient end-to-end disaster recovery solution for customers with mixed IT environments.
