Hollands Kroon, a municipality in the Netherlands, wanted to modernize its operations after a city merger and support a new, flexible “New World of Work” for employees and citizens. The local government needed stronger mobility, better collaboration, improved data use, and a secure way to move from traditional IT to a full cloud model with Microsoft Corporation solutions.

Microsoft Corporation, working with partner Sparked, helped Hollands Kroon move to a 100 percent cloud municipality using Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and Enterprise Mobility Suite. The transformation made the office nearly paperless, improved collaboration, reduced meetings and sickness/absence, and freed IT staff for citizen-focused work; it also cut commercial zoning permit times from 12 months to 4 months and increased satisfaction with home delivery of documents by 34 percent.
