Driving digital transformation for in vitro diagnostic medical devices with IoT

Roche Diagnostics, a leader in in vitro diagnostic medical devices, needed a better way to remotely monitor and manage its installed base across China, improve service delivery, and reduce downtime. To do this cost-effectively, Roche worked with Microsoft Corporation and its partner Cleidon, using Azure IoT Hub and related Azure services to address asset visibility, predictive maintenance, and better matching of devices to customer needs.

Microsoft Corporation helped implement a Microsoft Azure IoT-based solution that connected devices in near real time, collected operational data, triggered alerts for issues, and improved supply scheduling. The result was stronger monitoring of fixed assets, better supply management, data visualization for decision-making, and a foundation for future predictive maintenance to improve reliability and availability.
