A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
Avanade, a global professional services company with 35,000 employees, needed a more streamlined and secure way to collaborate and share files with clients, partners, and vendors. Its previous process relied on emails, guest accounts, and a custom external tenant that was hard to manage, difficult to audit, and not scalable, which also led some employees to use unapproved third-party tools. Microsoft Corporation’s Azure Active Directory, specifically Azure AD Identity Governance, was chosen to help solve these collaboration and security challenges.
Microsoft Corporation implemented Azure AD Identity Governance to automate access requests, create project-based access packages with approvals and expiration dates, and improve visibility into external sharing. The results included a tripling of Avanade’s Office 365 Secure Score, simpler user experiences, better auditability, and stronger control over who could access shared resources and for how long.
