A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
Derby City Council faced government budget cuts and the renewal of its outsourced IT contract, prompting the need for a more flexible, in-house approach to managing services for its 244,000 residents. The council chose Microsoft Corporation, using Azure and a hybrid cloud model to streamline operations while keeping some critical services in its datacenter.
With help from Microsoft Corporation and partner Risual, Derby City Council moved more than 60% of its apps and services to Microsoft Azure. The project was delivered on time and on budget, and is projected to save the council £1.3 million over three years while improving flexibility, reliability, scalability, and mobile working for staff.
