Debeka, one of Germany’s largest insurance groups, wanted to launch an online policy management and customer portal but had no centralized identity system in place. The company needed a secure, scalable way to manage identities for hundreds of thousands of customers while reducing printing and customer service costs. Microsoft Corporation’s Azure platform, including Azure Active Directory B2C, was chosen to support the project.
Microsoft Corporation implemented a fully cloud-based identity and access solution for Debeka, with customizations delivered through Microsoft Consulting Services and Oxford Computer Group. The platform enabled self-service features like password resets and contact updates, improved data protection and compliance, and eliminated the need to print many documents. Debeka also gained a foundation for additional digital services, and the solution was designed to scale to 2.4 million privately insured customers while keeping costs low.
