Daimler embraces the cloud to innovate faster

Daimler AG, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of premium cars and trucks, wanted to speed up software development and become more competitive in software. Working with Microsoft Corporation and Azure DevTest Labs, Daimler set out to replace slow, manual setup of development and test environments with a faster, reproducible cloud-based approach.

Microsoft Corporation helped Daimler implement a custom “Daimler DevCloud” using Azure DevTest Labs, Azure Virtual Machines, Visual Studio Team Services, Azure Log Analytics, and Azure Application Insights, along with open-source tools. The result was a dramatic improvement in developer onboarding, dropping from weeks to hours, and much faster proof-of-concept creation and team ramp-up, helping Daimler accelerate innovation and time-to-market.
