Creating the courtroom of the future with Azure

The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Court of Justice needed to hear and resolve more cases faster, while making it easier and less costly for litigants across its 21 Member States to access the court. Working with Microsoft Corporation, the court turned to Microsoft Azure and Office 365 to replace a paper-heavy, travel-intensive process with a more accessible digital model.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Azure and Office 365 to digitize case filing, tracking, and document access, improving security and efficiency across the court’s operations. The results included faster case submission, reduced printing and travel, and wider adoption by users, with at least 80% of COMESA lawyers adapting to the system and paperwork becoming available “at a click of a button.”
