A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
Coppin State University, an historically Black college in Baltimore, Maryland, wanted to create a “high-touch, high-tech, high-impact” environment for its multigenerational student body while improving enrollment, retention, and graduation outcomes. To do that, the university used Microsoft Corporation solutions including Office 365, Power BI, Windows 10, and Azure to better support students who often balance school with caregiving and other responsibilities.
Microsoft Corporation helped Coppin State University build a cloud-based, data-driven system that combines predictive analytics, student alerts, and secure data sharing across Azure and Office 365. The university uses Power BI to identify at-risk students, guide advising, and uncover issues that might delay graduation, while cloud tools and Office 365 licenses expanded access and affordability; as a result, more than half of its environment is now in the cloud, and staff can make faster, better-informed decisions to improve student success.
