Case Study: National Trust achieves unified conservation data and faster preservation insights with Microsoft Corporation

Conservation charity develops custom apps, unifying processes, driving conservation goals, and enabling accurate measurement of conservation investment success

National Trust, the UK conservation charity that manages hundreds of historic sites and vast areas of land, struggled with a slow, manual, and fragmented system for collecting and analyzing conservation performance data. Working with Microsoft Corporation’s PowerApps and Azure ecosystem, the organization needed a better way to unify processes, improve adoption, and measure preservation outcomes across remote locations.

Microsoft Corporation, through partner eBECS, delivered two custom PowerApps built on Azure SQL with Power BI integration, replacing the old Java-based approach. The apps were launched in just 8 weeks, improved user adoption and visibility, enabled near-real-time data access, and allowed National Trust to support testing across 10 sites while maintaining the solution with only 25 administrators.
