Code4Health, a UK health provider program supported by NHS England, brings together health and social care practitioners with software developers to create patient-focused digital solutions. Its challenge was to help 29 communities across England build software that is practical, easy to use, and cost-effective while also improving understanding between the healthcare and software industries. Microsoft Corporation’s Azure cloud platform was used to support this collaboration.

With Microsoft Corporation and Azure, Code4Health enabled communities to develop new software without additional technical support or on-premises servers, while also allowing developers to work mobile during stakeholder visits. The platform’s support for open source technology helped teams find innovative, economical ways to deliver healthcare solutions, contributing to ongoing development across 29 communities and improving the creation of new healthcare software.
