Co-op rolls out data driven business transformation using SAP on Azure

Co-op, a large UK retailer with more than 11 million weekly shoppers, was looking to modernize its supply chain and retail operations as part of a four-year transformation. To support this shift, Co-op chose Microsoft Corporation’s Azure platform to run SAP and use data to improve customer insight, store operations, and community-focused retailing.

Microsoft Corporation implemented SAP on Azure with Power BI and other intelligent cloud capabilities to help Co-op analyze shopping patterns, manage stock more efficiently, and run logistics in real time. The results included better in-store experiences, reduced waste, improved cash flow by releasing money tied up in waiting stock, and stronger efficiency and quality across stores, all while reducing infrastructure management overhead through Microsoft-managed security and maintenance.
