A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District, a large public school system, faced the challenge of identifying at-risk students early to prevent dropout rates. Despite having vast amounts of data, the district struggled with poor data governance and a lack of real-time analytics, making it difficult to predict which students might fail to meet critical milestones like the third-grade reading standard. To address this, they partnered with Microsoft Corporation and leveraged Microsoft Power BI and Azure Machine Learning.
The solution implemented by Microsoft, through partner Neal Analytics, provided the district with a cloud-based data visualization and predictive analytics platform. This allowed administrators and teachers to monitor performance in real-time and identify students needing intervention. As a result, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District gained the ability to make faster, data-driven decisions, accurately predict student outcomes, and allocate resources more effectively to help ensure student success.
