A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
The City of Corona, a medium-sized government organization in California, needed a more dynamic digital platform to support a small IT staff, break down siloed systems, improve security, and enable faster access to data across departments. It also wanted a resilient environment for mission-critical services, including public safety and emergency operations, and turned to Microsoft Corporation and its Azure Government cloud platform, along with Office 365 and Power BI, to guide the transition.
Microsoft Corporation implemented a phased cloud transformation with FastTrack, plus support from Catapult Systems, starting with single sign-on through Active Directory Federation Services in Azure and expanding to Azure Active Directory, Office 365, Power BI, Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery. The result was faster deployment, stronger security, improved collaboration and mobility, and better business intelligence; one major milestone was bringing Active Directory Federation Services online in less than three weeks, helping Corona create a “single pane of glass” for citywide insight and more reliable disaster recovery.
