The Câmara Municipal de Cascais, a municipal government in Portugal, faced the challenge of transitioning from a paper-based, siloed organization to an agile digital workplace to better serve its citizens. Microsoft Corporation implemented its cloud-based productivity suite, which included Microsoft Planner, Exchange Online, and Skype for Business. This solution provided the mobile, connected tools needed to improve teamwork and transparency. The results were significant: collaboration improved by 20 percent, group initiatives were completed 7 percent faster, and over 1,000 employees used Planner to manage more than 1,750 projects with no required training.
