Case Study: Chevron Corporation achieves secure productivity gains with Microsoft Corporation cloud services

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Chevron Corporation Case Study

Chevron productivity climbs with security-enhancing Microsoft cloud services

Chevron Corporation, a global energy company with 52,000 employees in 162 countries, needed a more secure and efficient way to collaborate with its workforce and third-party partners while reducing file storage costs. The company also faced challenges from scattered data, mobile work, and security risks tied to email attachments, USB drives, and legacy storage tools. To address this, Chevron turned to Microsoft Corporation’s Office 365 and OneDrive.

Microsoft Corporation implemented OneDrive with Office 365, along with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft FastTrack support for complex migrations, to modernize Chevron’s digital workplace. Chevron migrated more than 800 terabytes of data to OneDrive, lowered storage expenses, improved secure sharing and mobile access, and enabled real-time coauthoring across global teams. Security features such as expiring links, recipient verification, and monitoring of shared files helped Chevron strengthen control over data and support safer external collaboration.
