Rithum, known in the case study as ChannelAdvisor, needed to boost the performance of nearly 4,000 databases supporting its cloud-based e-commerce platform while keeping pace with billions of dollars in transactions. It turned to Microsoft Corporation and SQL Server 2016 to help handle OLTP, analytics, and large-scale retail data workloads more efficiently.

Microsoft Corporation implemented SQL Server 2016 features including In-Memory OLTP, Query Store, Columnstore, and PowerShell-assisted upgrades. The results were substantial: CPU usage dropped 75 percent on one stored procedure, average query execution time fell from 75 to 25 milliseconds, query performance improved by 75 percent for major workloads, and the company saved 11 TB across data marts while also cutting licensing and staff time through Query Store.
