Centrica moves to the cloud to power innovation

Centrica, a leading UK energy services and solutions provider, needed greater flexibility and agility to stay competitive and better meet changing customer needs. Microsoft Corporation’s Azure cloud platform was used to support Centrica’s move away from traditional infrastructure and help the company focus on future products and services.

Microsoft Corporation enabled Centrica to move 220 applications and 9 petabytes of data to the cloud, accelerating innovation across pricing, marketing, insight, and campaign management. Centrica said the project achieved more in a shorter period than any previous infrastructure effort, helping it become more competitive and deliver what it described as a major cloud transformation.
