The New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) needed a faster, more mobile way for frontline caseworkers to handle time-sensitive child welfare investigations. Using Microsoft Corporation’s Surface Pro and Windows 10-based devices, along with Dynamics 365 Field Service, ACS sought to reduce hours spent on paperwork, office trips, and reconnecting to state systems while protecting sensitive family information.
Microsoft Corporation implemented LTE-enabled Surface Pro devices with Surface Pen support, giving caseworkers secure, on-the-go access to records, forms, and reporting tools in the field. The result was faster report writing, fewer trips back to the office, and improved productivity and morale; one caseworker reported completing reports in about two hours instead of three to four, cutting reporting time in half.
