British Medical Association transforms member services and organisational engagement

The British Medical Association faced outdated IT infrastructure and manual, time-consuming member and internal processes that limited how quickly it could deliver new services. Using Microsoft Azure, the BMA needed a more modern platform to improve member engagement, support staff, and digitize services for its 160,000 doctors.

Microsoft Corporation helped the British Medical Association migrate much of its IT to Azure, enabling rapid delivery of new tools like the “Doc health” website in six weeks and an online rota checker in three weeks. The move also transformed committee elections from months to minutes, improved collaboration with Office 365 and OneNote, and reduced administrative workload while supporting more data-driven decision-making through Power BI and analytics.
