Newoxygen, a Portuguese IT service provider for small and midsize businesses, needed a flexible platform to quickly build and deploy a managed SAP Business One offering for SMEs that wanted to move to the cloud but lacked the budget and in-house expertise for a traditional ERP migration. Microsoft Corporation’s Azure enabled Newoxygen to deliver SAP Business One as a managed cloud service with scalable infrastructure and pay-as-you-go pricing. The result was a dramatic reduction in deployment time—from about a month on-premises to less than two days on Azure, and in some cases just over two hours after the initial investment—while also lowering customer costs from an estimated €20,000 on-premises to about €600 per month.
