BP strengthens cybersecurity and regulatory compliance with Microsoft Azure and Azure Security Center

BP, the global energy company, faced growing cybersecurity and compliance challenges as it expanded its digital transformation and moved more of its IT estate to the cloud. With a complex mix of multi-cloud and legacy environments, BP needed stronger visibility, identity protection, and threat response across systems, networks, and applications. To address this, BP turned to Microsoft Corporation, using Microsoft Azure and Azure Security Center.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Azure Security Center alongside Azure and Azure Active Directory to give BP a centralized view of its security posture, better threat monitoring, and built-in best-practice controls. The results included improved visibility over BP’s Azure estate, stronger multifactor authentication for 80,000 client machines, easier regulatory reporting, and better support for GDPR compliance, all at low total cost of ownership.
