Case Study: BP achieves hybrid cloud modernization with Microsoft Corporation Azure

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the BP Case Study

BP adopts hybrid cloud and moves applications and datacenter operations to Azure

BP, a global energy company with operations across 73 countries, needed to simplify datacenter operations and speed up application development and deployment while meeting strict regional compliance and data sovereignty requirements. To do this, BP adopted a cloud-first strategy with Microsoft Corporation, using Microsoft Azure and related services as it began moving applications and on-premises infrastructure to the cloud.

Microsoft Corporation implemented a hybrid architecture for BP using Azure Stack, Azure ExpressRoute, Azure Active Directory, Azure Security Center, and Azure Virtual WAN, enabling secure connectivity, unified identity, and flexible cloud/on-premises operations. BP has already moved numerous applications to Azure and is nearly out of one major U.S. mega datacenter, reducing datacenter management overhead and accelerating delivery with on-demand cloud resources that can run applications for tens of dollars a day with no upfront procurement.
