Bosch increases vehicle safety using map-matching algorithms and Azure Kubernetes Service

Robert Bosch GmbH, the automotive technology company, wanted to solve the dangerous problem of drivers going the wrong way on highways. Bosch needed a way to process noisy GPS data in real time with enough speed and precision to warn drivers within seconds, and it chose Microsoft Corporation’s Azure platform, including Azure Kubernetes Service, to build the service.

Microsoft Corporation helped Bosch implement a cloud-based wrong-way driver warning service and SDK using AKS, Azure API Management, and other Azure services. The solution now processes about 6 million requests per day, cuts wrong-way detection to roughly 60 milliseconds, and has supported more than 12 million SDK downloads, enabling Bosch to scale the service globally with strong security and reliability.
