Boosting green energy intelligence with IoT in Germany

Avacon Natur, a German regional energy provider focused on customer-tailored heating, cooling, and power solutions, needed a way to remotely monitor growing energy assets, respond to changing supply and demand in near real time, and deliver more efficient services with a lower carbon footprint. To address this challenge, Avacon Natur worked with Microsoft Corporation’s partner M&M Software, using Microsoft Azure and Azure IoT Hub as the cloud foundation for its IoT monitoring needs.

Microsoft Corporation helped M&M Software deploy the WAGO Cloud IoT solution and controller-I/O system across Avacon Natur’s energy assets, connecting data from solar panels, CHP plants, and district heating networks into Azure for secure analysis and actionable insights. The solution improved operational efficiency and uptime, enabled faster adjustments to energy delivery, and initially connected about 100 single-side solutions and district heating networks, giving Avacon Natur and its customers better visibility and more reliable energy supply.
