Blackbaud harnesses the power of Azure to help drive social good

Blackbaud, a US-based software provider for social good organizations, needed to modernize its on-premises products and shift to a cloud-based SaaS model while better managing APIs for customers and partners. To support that transition, Blackbaud turned to Microsoft Corporation and used Azure and Azure API Management to publish APIs, improve developer access, and scale its ecosystem.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Azure API Management to help Blackbaud secure and govern API traffic, onboard developers more easily, and gain better visibility into usage and health. The result was steady API traffic growth after the SKY API program launched, stronger protection of internal resources, and richer analytics through Azure tools such as Event Hub, Stream Analytics, and Power BI, enabling more actionable reporting and a more consistent developer experience.
