A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
Dish TV, a major direct-to-home (DTH) service provider in India, faced significant IT infrastructure challenges. Its legacy system, built on a rapid application development (RAD) tool, consisted of numerous disparate applications connected through inefficient database polling. This created a cumbersome architecture with high database utilization, manual scaling, and slow processing times for critical customer service functions like billing and channel authorization, hampering efficiency.
Microsoft provided the solution with its BizTalk Server integration platform. Implementing BizTalk created a streamlined, high-performance messaging system that replaced the outdated architecture. This resulted in dramatically improved efficiency: customer service delivery time dropped from minutes to under 10 seconds for most transactions, traffic to the conditional access system was cut by 50%, and database utilization was reduced from 95% to 80%, with further gains expected.
