Billion pound waste management company moves 300 servers to Azure

Biffa, the UK’s leading integrated waste management company, needed a scalable technology platform to support rapid growth through acquisitions and faster onboarding of new users. To meet that challenge, Biffa partnered with Microsoft Corporation and migrated its infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, aiming to move from on-premises systems to a fully cloud-based environment.

Microsoft Corporation helped Biffa move around 300 servers to Azure and use Azure and Power BI to improve efficiency, integrate legacy UNIX and Linux systems, and drive better decisions through data. The results were strong: Biffa became 100% cloud-based, improved operational performance, and reported a 25% cost saving from the move to Azure.
