Case Study: M-Files achieves faster, more scalable cloud content management with Microsoft Corporation Azure

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the M-Files Case Study

Azure helps M-Files developers create the next generation of enterprise content management

M-Files, a Finland-based enterprise content management company, had a challenge common to many businesses: too many siloed content systems and storage locations. To solve this, M-Files built its own document-management solution and later moved its SaaS ECM platform to Microsoft Azure, using services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Active Directory, Azure Key Vault, and Azure DNS to support cloud, hybrid, and on-premises deployments.

Microsoft Corporation enabled M-Files to deliver a more scalable, secure, and efficient platform with built-in high availability, better integration, and reduced infrastructure overhead. The impact was strong: M-Files grew six times faster than the ECM market, cut database costs by three to ten times with elastic pools, and achieved more than 10 times faster queries in critical workloads with Azure SQL Database and SQL Server 2016, all without code changes.
