Avid improved employee productivity and modernized SAP infrastructure with migration to Azure

Avid Technology needed to modernize its aging on-premises IT infrastructure, which was blocking SAP upgrades and causing costly downtime and business continuity risks. To support its SAP environment and future move to SAP S/4HANA, Avid turned to Microsoft Corporation’s Azure cloud platform, with SAP and SQL Server among the products used.

Microsoft Corporation helped Avid migrate its ERP landscape to Azure, including converting the SAP database from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server and moving from UNIX to Windows. The result was 99.95% application availability, a reduction in planned downtime from 123 hours to about 60 hours, and nearly 50% faster run times; system refreshes also dropped from three days to one, improving productivity and scalability.
