FEV Europe GmbH, an automotive mobility development company, faced the challenge of processing massive volumes of vehicle camera, radar, and Lidar data for autonomous driving. To label objects accurately, FEV needed a way to handle petabytes of sensor data quickly and securely, while supporting customers in a highly data-sensitive industry using Microsoft Corporation’s Azure cloud and related services.

Microsoft Corporation, through Microsoft Enterprise Services and Azure Storage, helped FEV run its annotation and machine-learning workloads on scalable GPU clusters in the cloud. The solution cut labeling time from hours on local hardware to minutes after upload, enabled rapid access to computing resources, and reduced infrastructure costs through pay-as-you-go usage. It also let FEV keep customer networks separate for confidentiality and continue improving the tool without interrupting operations.
