Case Study: Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank achieves cloud-first digital trade finance banking with Microsoft Corporation

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank Case Study

Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank, world’s first trade finance bank, hosted entirely on Microsoft cloud

Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank (AGTB), the world’s first digital-only trade finance bank, wanted to close the global trade-financing gap by replacing manual, legacy banking processes with a modern, customer-centric trade finance experience. Working with Microsoft Corporation, AGTB used Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365, and Office 365 to build a fully digital banking platform that could better serve underserved businesses and support faster, more flexible trade finance services.

Microsoft Corporation helped AGTB create a cloud-based architecture with Azure, Azure Logic Apps, and integrated microservices to connect core systems and automate workflows across 10 commercial applications and 288 connection points. The new solution improved agility, integration, and scalability, and AGTB reported saving $500 million in the first half-year after rollout, while also laying the foundation for smarter analytics, lower risk premiums, and a more connected trade ecosystem.
