Aldine ISD - Customer Case Study

Aldine ISD, a large Houston-area school district, needed a better way to prepare for and respond to emergencies across its 90 buildings and 69,000 students. Working with Microsoft Corporation partner Insight and BeSafe Technologies, the district adopted a cloud-based safety solution built on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Digital Twins and Azure IoT solution accelerators, to replace fragmented, hard-to-access building information with a more secure digital approach.

Microsoft Corporation helped implement ActiveShield and the Connected Safety platform, giving Aldine ISD real-time digital floor plans, sensor and camera integration, alerts, and two-way communications. The phased rollout reduced the need for on-premises hardware and simplified management, while enabling faster, more informed emergency response; first responders can now access live building data instantly, helping save critical time when every second counts.
