A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
Dongguk University, a medium-sized institution in Korea, sought to modernize its curriculum by incorporating hands-on artificial intelligence (AI) training. The challenge was to move away from traditional one-sided lectures and provide students with practical experience in AI, big data, and data science without the need for expensive, high-performance computing hardware on campus.
Microsoft, through its Microsoft Professional Program (MPP) on Azure, provided a comprehensive, cloud-based solution. This delivered a systematic curriculum and a practical, accessible learning environment that did not require advanced hardware preparation. The results included a positive student response to the practice-oriented classes, a reduced course development workload for professors, and progress towards the university's goal of integrating AI capabilities across all majors.
