Case Study: Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank achieves disaster resilience and greater efficiency with Microsoft Corporation cloud services

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank Case Study

After a disaster, this nonprofit is more prepared than ever—through the cloud

After a devastating 2016 flood destroyed its offices, warehouses, and on-premise IT, Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank was left offline with lost data, inventory records, and documents. The nonprofit needed a fast way to recover operations and better prepare for future disasters, and turned to Microsoft Corporation’s cloud offerings, including Azure, Office 365, and Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Microsoft Corporation helped the food bank move its systems and data to the cloud, enabling it to resume operations within two days of the flood. The new setup improved real-time reporting and inventory tracking, cut IT spending to less than a third of its previous budget, and freed up savings equivalent to 112,000 more meals for people in need.
