JR East Information Systems Company (JEIS), an IT services provider for the East Japan Railway Company, needed to automate the inefficient and time-consuming manual analysis of its mission-critical system operations. With an increasingly complex IT infrastructure, their process of gathering logs, cleaning data, and generating monthly reports in Excel took approximately three work days, causing delays and limiting insights. Microsoft implemented a solution using its Operations Management Suite (OMS), Application Insights, HockeyApp, and Power BI to automatically collect and analyze data from both web and mobile applications. This new system completely automated the reporting process, reducing it from three days to just a few minutes. The Microsoft solution provided deeper operational visibility, enabling JEIS to quickly identify and resolve application errors and unauthorized access attempts, and to make more informed decisions for future system improvements.
