Case Study: MTI (Monohakobi Technology Institute) achieves faster, more secure cloud website and lower costs with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the MTI Case Study

With a cloud and open source solution, MTI moves away from on-premises servers, strengthens security, and increases speed

MTI, a technology arm of shipping giant NYK, needed to move its corporate WordPress site off in‑house servers after its operations vendor went out of business and NYK pushed to retire on‑premises infrastructure. The company faced ongoing costs and complexity for server selection, maintenance, security patches and performance tuning while needing to reliably publish research in both Japanese and English.

Working with Prime Strategy, MTI deployed a pre‑tuned KUSANAGI virtual machine on Microsoft Azure from the Azure Marketplace. This cloud and open‑source solution (WordPress, MariaDB, Varnish) eliminated on‑premises servers, improved security and page‑load speed (KUSANAGI is ~10× faster than equivalent LAMP), reduced operating costs, and freed IT staff to focus on higher‑value work while ensuring stable, supported website operations.
