Van Lanschot, the Netherlands’ oldest private bank, faced a rapid shift in client behavior: wealth-management clients wanted more digital, mobile-first ways to interact without losing the personalized service the bank is known for. The challenge was to deliver an omnichannel, client-centric platform quickly and cost-effectively while keeping core systems on-premises, so Van Lanschot partnered with Xpirit to adopt a hybrid-cloud approach.

Using Microsoft Azure PaaS (with Azure API Management, App Service, and Application Gateway) and Visual Studio Team Services, the team built a mobile web platform with features like Client Intake and Goal Monitoring, and moved to Agile/DevOps with two-week sprints. The result: the first applications reached production in five months—about a 50% reduction in time-to-market—while creating a scalable, secure platform, transferring DevOps skills in-house, and driving strong client adoption.
