Using IT and ERP to improve efficiency in the ’new normal‘ of Indonesian construction

PT PP (Persero) Tbk, an Indonesian state-owned construction company since 1961, faced rising project complexity and client expectations as budgets commonly exceeded a trillion rupiah (≈USD 68 million). With roughly 6,000 employees across multiple locations and strict sector regulations, its legacy systems struggled to deliver fast, reliable information flow—an issue made urgent by the March 2020 shift to remote work.

PT PP migrated to Microsoft Azure and adopted Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) and Azure DevOps (May 2020) to centralize data and collaboration. The move gave all employees unified access to information, improved workflow transparency and decision-making, boosted company-wide digital competence, provided scalable and resilient infrastructure, and positioned PT PP as an industry example of digital transformation with plans to expand real-time data analytics and offer a tech platform for other builders.
