US Federal Government IT Services Provider Evaluates Converged Systems

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is a US government IT services provider that builds and manages highly security‑sensitive systems for federal agencies. To help customers adopt cloud computing while meeting strict security (FedRAMP) and cost constraints, GDIT needed a faster, lower‑cost way to specify, procure, integrate, and maintain private‑cloud infrastructure and to support hybrid cloud scenarios.

GDIT is evaluating the Microsoft Cloud Platform System (CPS) powered by Dell — a pre‑integrated converged hardware + software solution based on Windows Server, System Center, and Azure Pack — to accelerate private‑cloud deployment and bridge to public/hybrid clouds. Early results indicate CPS can shorten build cycles, reduce development and bid costs, simplify operations with coordinated updates, help meet government security requirements, and free IT resources for higher‑value work.
