A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Unique BI solution gets marketplace boost via partnership with technology-agnostic cloud

Yellowfin, a Melbourne-based software company founded in 2003, builds browser-based, platform-agnostic business intelligence (BI) tools used by customers in 70 countries. Facing a crowded market and varied customer technology stacks, Yellowfin needed a way to commercialise its product, make it easy for prospects to trial with their own data, and remove technical barriers to rapid adoption.

Yellowfin partnered with Microsoft to publish its BI platform on the Azure Marketplace, offering a step-through wizard for Linux or Windows deployments and a free three-user license for 12 months. Customers can spin up Yellowfin in minutes, connect to MySQL, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft SQL and other data sources, and start enterprise reporting—driving faster trials, increased exposure through Azure, new customers and partner opportunities, and an additional revenue stream.
