A Microsoft Azure Case Study
Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, a medium-size Turkish nonprofit supporting the Directorate of Religious Affairs with more than 1,000 branches and international outreach, faced rising costs and complexity from on-premises datacenter infrastructure. Periodic peak demand left hardware underutilized, scaling and disaster recovery were expensive, and growing security and management needs made the existing setup inefficient for delivering continuous, flexible services to staff and stakeholders.
The foundation moved key workloads to Microsoft Azure and Office 365, deploying Exchange Online, Skype for Business, Power BI, Azure RMS, MFA, Intune and Advanced Threat Protection, and creating a cloud-based DR solution. The change enabled rapid provisioning, reduced on-prem investments and maintenance, improved security and availability, freed IT staff by shifting some services to PaaS, and delivered email, messaging, video, storage and self-service reporting to about 2,000 users with faster, more cost‑effective operations.
