Case Study: Financial Fabric achieves a secure, scalable data-driven hedge fund platform with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the Financial Fabric Case Study

Transforming hedge fund management with new business models and data platforms on Azure

Financial Fabric, a New York–based provider of big-data analytics and reporting for hedge funds and institutional investors, built DataHub to address the rising cost, complexity, and security demands facing investment managers. With regulatory pressure, shrinking fees, and fragmented manual processes that can consume more than 70% of a small or midsize fund’s operating budget, many firms lack the time, money, or expertise to create institutional‑grade, secure data infrastructure in-house.

Financial Fabric deployed DataHub on Microsoft Azure—leveraging Azure SQL Database (Always Encrypted), Azure Active Directory, VMs, Power BI, and SharePoint—to centralize ingestion, cleansing, normalization, and secure sharing of sensitive investment data. The cloud-based, co‑sourcing model enabled rapid onboarding (Rotation Capital went live in four weeks), cut manual reconciliation, improved transparency and compliance, and provided scalable, cost‑effective analytics and reporting for hedge funds.
