A Microsoft Azure Case Study
Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC), a large duty‑free retailer in the Philippines, set out to digitize core operations—inventory management, sales monitoring and point‑of‑sale systems—but its on‑premises website and web apps suffered availability, connectivity and security problems. With new customer portals coming online, DFPC needed a more reliable, secure hosting platform to support faster deployments and better operational control.
In 2014, DFPC migrated its website and web applications to Microsoft Azure with partner Mannasoft, choosing Azure for improved accessibility and security. Using Azure IaaS, the company moved to a scalable pay‑per‑use model that reduced hardware and maintenance costs, simplified administration, enabled quicker go‑to‑market updates, and strengthened protection against breaches—creating a foundation to add services like Skype for Business and Microsoft Dynamics to evolve toward an end‑to‑end e‑commerce platform.
