Case Study: XOMNI achieves scalable, lightning-fast omnichannel product search and analytics with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the XOMNI Case Study

The store of the future runs on speedy search and the easy flow of data

XOMNI is a Seattle-based SaaS company that provides an omnichannel platform for retailers and agencies to build rich in-store and mobile experiences. Facing rapid customer growth (including large retailers like GameStop) and the need to support thousands of stores and tens of thousands of client devices, XOMNI needed a high-performance, scalable back end—search, storage, real-time data and analytics—without a large DevOps burden from its seven-person team.

XOMNI built its solution on Microsoft Azure using DocumentDB (NoSQL) and Azure Search, enabling automatic indexing, real-time queries, and dynamic scaling for the “endless aisle” experience. The platform delivers lightning-fast product queries, scales from pilots to hundreds of stores quickly, powers analytics and omnibasket behavior tracking, and cut development and operating costs (about $150K saved in search development plus ongoing savings and reduced management effort). Today XOMNI supports major retail customers and a growing partner ecosystem.
