Case Study: Royal Agricultural Society of NSW achieves scalable, data-driven digital experiences with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Case Study

The Royal Agricultural Society creates fertile digital foundation in Microsoft Azure to seed innovation

The Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales (RAS), organiser of the long-running Sydney Royal Easter Show, needed to modernize how it managed three websites and gathered attendee insight for a two-week event that spikes from almost no traffic to millions of hits. The existing setup used static HTML and multiple content-management systems, required manual page edits, couldn’t scale easily, and didn’t provide the behavioral data RAS needed to plan venues, schedules, and visitor services.

RAS chose Episerver running on Microsoft Azure and engaged partner Levo to build a central Azure SQL data repository, unified CMS, single sign-on, and connectors to third-party services (event scheduling, social media, Salesforce) and Bluetooth beacons; AgileBI added Power BI dashboards. In seven months they launched three dynamic sites and an app, supported 1,900 concurrent users, gained 30,000 new subscribers and 450,000 wish-list items, made six live releases during the Show with no downtime, and significantly reduced manual work while unlocking richer, real-time visitor insights for future planning.
