Case Study: OTP eBIZ achieves streamlined, integrated mobile financial services for SMEs with Microsoft Azure

The powerful, affordable, pocket-size financial assistant

OTP eBIZ Ltd., a fintech startup from Hungary backed by OTP Bank, launched eBIZ to act as a pocket-size financial assistant for SMEs. The team’s challenge was to combine online banking, account management and billing into a single, easy-to-use interface while integrating a new front end and back end with legacy bank infrastructure, meeting strict security and legal requirements and building the new Fintech organization.

They chose a cloud-based Microsoft Azure backend and used agile development with close Microsoft engineering support to deliver web and mobile apps that handle invoicing, incoming-bill processing, reconciliation and partner/accountant access. Launched in March and offered on a monthly plan with a 3-month trial, eBIZ has reduced administrative workload, sped up payments and reconciliation, and created a roadmap for expansion and advanced features (OCR/ML for paper bills, financial planning, blockchain-based signing and multi-bank support).
