A Microsoft Azure Case Study
The Linde Group, a Munich‑based global gas and engineering company operating in more than 100 countries, needed to unify a dispersed workforce, improve collaboration and mobility, and meet strict security and data‑residency requirements while moving off an on‑premises Lotus Notes environment. Growing market volatility, increased customer focus, and adoption of mobile and IoT solutions made a standardized, secure digital workplace essential to sustain productivity and innovation.
Linde implemented Microsoft 365 Enterprise—combining Office 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security, and Windows 10—with assistance from Microsoft Consulting Services and FastTrack, deploying Exchange Online, Skype for Business, OneDrive, SharePoint Online and plans for Teams, Intune and Azure AD features. The rollout boosted collaboration (more than 80% of users leverage screen/content sharing), cut travel and meeting time, streamlined workflows by replacing legacy apps with SharePoint-based processes, enabled secure mobile access to documents, and delivered EU-compliant security and compliance controls.
