Texas school district builds differentiated learning with cloud-based identities

YES Prep is a 16‑school public charter system in Houston serving 11,600 students in grades 6–12. Teachers were spending huge amounts of time—50–80 hours each semester plus 15–20 hours weekly—pulling data from 30–40 separate applications and managing multiple passwords, while the district struggled with fragmented identity management and FERPA compliance.

Partnering with Oxford Computer Group, YES Prep moved identities to Microsoft’s cloud-based Enterprise Mobility + Security (Azure AD Premium, Intune, Microsoft Identity Manager) to deliver single sign-on, self-service password reset, multifactor authentication and device management. The cloud identity platform underpins a student profile dashboard, cuts teachers’ planning time by up to 100 hours per semester, reduces IT password resets, and strengthens security and compliance.
